Pasco EcoFest Art Exhibit Takes Best in Show

Hosted by the West Pasco Art Guild and Progress Energy Art Gallery, this spectacular show will feature works of art in various mediums depicting scenes of Florida nature inside our lovely Peace Hall.

The event kick-off and opening for the art show will take place Friday evening, 6:00 pm – 10:00 pm with entertainment provided by the Suncoast Harmony Chorus

Saturday several artists will be hosting demonstrations around Peace Hall. For all the details please go here.

The art show will run the entire weekend, November 9, 2012 @ 6:00 pm – 10:00 pm, November 10, 2012 @ 10:00 am – 8:00 pm, and November 11, 2012 @ 10:00 am – 5:00 pm.

Pasco County Parks & Recreation Department Waives Fees for Pasco EcoFest

Thanks to our partnership with Pasco County, we’re happy to announce that there will be no park fees during EcoFest and the department has generously agreed to accommodate the later schedule of the Drum Circle and dancing on the beach at Anclote River Park on Saturday night. You’ll be able to dance to the beat of your own drum (or someone else’s) until midnight!

Thanks Pasco County for helping us make PEF2012 a GREAT event for everyone!

Meet Your Friendly Local Green Businesses

Head on down to the New Port Richey Public Library Saturday, November 10 from 9 am to 1:00 pm and bring your reusable shopping bags. The Pasco EcoFest Eco Market is a place for local “green” businesses to show their stuff—and sell it too!

Vendors will include Ecology Florida, Bill’s Bees, Gunner Leathers and the Suncoast Co-Op, to name just a few.

Dave Eichenberger will be providing the “chill out and groove with your neighbors” vibe using his magic guitar and live looping composition techniques.

So we have pulled together a raft of experts in various subjects to share what they know about subjects like local organic gardening, Herbology, container gardening, birding, Gopher tortoises, Gulf Coast restoration & preservation and more.

Main Street’s Harvest Fest teams up with Eco Fest!

In a small community it’s all about working together for the greater good, so event organizers from Pasco EcoFest and Harvest Fest decided it would be a bigger bang for your buck if they combined the two events. Lucky you!

Harvest Fest will be taking place all weekend in Sims Park, Friday 6pm-10pm, Saturday 10am-10pm and Sunday 10am-5pm. Bring blankets and lawn chairs, prepare to indulge in some killer BBQ and enjoy a beautiful day in the park with your friends and neighbors.

There will also be a great Arts & Crafts show going on too, so if you’re getting a head start on your holiday gift shopping, this would be a great place to start!

Enjoy live Bluegrass and Florida Folk music all weekend!

Pet Expo & EcoFeast Food Truck Rally New to EcoFest This Year

This year EcoFest has added a few new activities to the menu–first of all we’ll be hosting the very first Food Truck Rally in New Port Richey. Now we’re really putting our little City on the map, aren’t we!? The EcoFeast Food Truck Rally will be taking place at the New Port Richey Recreation & Aquatic Center, on Van Buren Street in downtown New Port Richey, Saturday, November 10 from 10 am to 4 pm.

Come hungry and be prepared to sample a bit from each of our seven vendors: Renny’s Oki Doki, The Dude and His Food, Hott Mess, 3 Suns Organic Bistro, Maui Mama’s, Graffeaties, and Michelle Faedo’s On The Go!

Food trucks can be a little noisy, so they will be located in the lower parking lot of the Rec Center.

The pool deck will be open to Feasters with live music while you nosh thanks to DaKoopas! Some say it’s the peanut butter of the soul, others simply say it’s fun acoustic music. So come, have some fun, and enjoy good family music.

From 11 am to 2 pm you’ll also be able to meet with several regional pet rescues who will have information about the services they provide and even meet some adoptable pets. Do you have room at the inn for one more furry friend? Then you’ll definitely want to stop by the Pet Expo! Rescues and pets will be located on the lawn in front of the Rec Center.

There’s a lot going on at the Rec on Saturday…so be sure to make time to swing by!

Spirit People Intertribal Family will be at Anclote River Park

Members of the tribe will be in ceremonial dress.
