Join Russell Watrous from the Nature Coast chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society and Katie MacMillen of the Pasco County Environmental Lands department on a hike through a diverse Florida ecosystem.
Pass through Oak and Sand Pine scrub, a marsh and Cypress stand, and end along a creek leading to the Pithlachascotee River. Russell and Katie will be available to identify some of Florida’s Native plant species and explain their role in the native ecosystem.
Preceding the walk Russell will host a brief discussion on the future of the Bald Cypress habitat.
What to bring? Water, small note pad and pencil.
What to wear? Comfortable clothes and walking shoes suitable for outdoors.
